課程概述

本課程為共同選修課,不屬於通識課程。 This is one of the experimental courses initiated by the Tunghai Office of Teaching Excellence Projects. The most prominent feature of these courses is that more than half of the course content will be retrieved from the iTunes University resource, series videos related to how people learn—how information is understood, memorized, evaluated, organized, retrieved, and eventually transformed into knowledge. Preparing summaries of the assigned videos and comparing what is learned from the videos with peers are routine activities in the classroom. At suitable points, the teacher will raise questions for the students to answer and provide controversial topics for them to discuss. While exploring how thinking skills are taught in nurturing school settings, the students are encouraged to become more conscious of their thinking process. Meanwhile, they are expected to develop Personal Knowledge Management skills through completing self-study projects. The teacher role in the course is more that of a discussion facilitator than a knowledge provider. The language used for instruction is English.
