教育目標

Today, the systems of production are indispensable in manufacturing. Modern manufacturing enterprises that manage these production systems must cope with the new technologies of computer. The objective of this course will be designed to help students to learn the realities of modern manufacturing which includes the following issues: globalization, international and local outsourcing, contract manufacturing, trend toward the service sector, quality expectations, need for operational efficiency; and the modern manufacturing approaches and technologies which includes: automation, material handling technologies, manufacturing systems, flexible manufacturing, quality programs, computer-integrated manufacturing and lean production aspects. On completion of this course students will have the knowledge of key manufacturing technologies and their underlying principles applied in current manufacturing industry, and will be comfortable with using commercial CAD and CAD/CAM systems to solve real world problems. Also, students are expected to develop the ability to work in industrial environment to design programs for various models and various (multi-axis) CNC machine tools.
