教育目標

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: 1. Describe how entrepreneurial thinking moves a small business from concept to realization; 2. Transform their conceptual business plans into reality by following developmental steps; and 3. Think in a multidimensional way about all aspects of starting and running a small business.

課程概述

Introduction to Small Business in an English Speaking Culture (II) is the second half of a yearlong introduction to the essential concepts and skills that are needed to understand, grow, and manage a successful small business venture. For people who think independently and have a strong inner drive, building a small business represents the fulfillment of a dream to work for themselves while pursuing their career passions. This course is suitable for students who have no prior business training but are interested in getting a well-rounded introduction to the knowledge and skills that are needed to start a small business. It is also suitable for students who want to begin the journey of providing a solution for an unmet business need in society, but require some guidance in how to get started towards their goals. Selected topics in this course include: building customer relationships; product development and supply chain management; pricing and credit decisions; promotional planning; global opportunities; and managing human resources, operations, business assets, and risk. This course will be taught entirely in English.
