教育目標

Course Objectives: On completion of the course, students should be able to 1) provide real-life examples of social and cultural diversity; 2) demonstrate their multicultural awareness and appreciation; 3) use idiomatic expressions acquired in the course; and 4) express their opinions on diversity issues more confidently. Contents: 【主題:遇見閱讀,喚醒文化意識】 Theme of Course: Cultural Awareness through Reading This course is designed to improve students’ English proficiency with an emphasis on reading skills. Students will also be given tasks that will strengthen their English listening, speaking and writing skills. Each week a different text with a culturally related theme will be presented and students will be guided through a variety of language tasks and activities that aim to develop their understanding of the text and new language. Students will also be given opportunities to use new language to express opinions about issues and cultural aspects related to the texts presented.

課程概述

「大二英文」為「大一英文」之延伸課程。本課程將以25人小班制進行模組化之英語教學,實踐以學習者為中心之教學理念,針對學生個人學習興趣及相關系所之專業需求,開設四大模組課程,分別為「多元文化」、「簡報與演說」、「職涯與專業」以及「日常溝通」。所有的模組課程均以學期為單位,學生於上、下學期可針對個人學習需求選擇不同的模組課程。本課程擺脫過去單一教材的束縛,主要目標在於提供學生適才適性的英語文學習環境。四大模組課程分別由具有共同核心目標但涵蓋不同主題之課程所建構而成。結合討論、展演、競賽及實作等各類學習方式與活動,期待學生能在更多元、自主的學習語境中,具體強化其英語文溝通能力。 本課程屬於「多元文化」模組,因應全球化時代的來臨與多元語境融入英語學習的新趨勢,引導學生在學習英文的過程中,體驗不同文化現象,培養多元視角之世界觀,進而完備其成為世界公民之基本素養。
