Course Objectives: On completion of the course, students should be able to 1) provide real-life examples of social and cultural diversity; 2) demonstrate their multicultural awareness and appreciation; 3) use idiomatic expressions acquired in the course; and 4) express their opinions on diversity issues more confidently. Contents: 【主題:深入多元文化,認識豐富的非洲】 本課程將使用文化方面(如文學,口述傳統,音樂,電視,新聞媒體,電影等)向學生介紹非洲大陸及 其文化,人和語言。學生將接觸到來自非洲大陸不同地區的各種文本,在美學和背景層面上了解整個非 洲和世界的差異和相似之處。 Theme of Course: Reading and Listening for Africa This course will use aspects of culture (such as literature, oral traditions, music, television, news media, movies, etc.) to introduce students to the African continent and its cultures, people, and languages. Students will be exposed to a variety of texts from different regions on the continent, learning about differences and similarities across the continent and the world at the level of aesthetics and context.)

課程概述

「大二英文」為「大一英文」之延伸課程。本課程將以25人小班制進行模組化之英語教學,實踐以學習者為中心之教學理念,針對學生個人學習興趣及相關系所之專業需求,開設四大模組課程,分別為「多元文化」、「簡報與演說」、「職涯與專業」以及「日常溝通」。所有的模組課程均以學期為單位,學生於上、下學期可針對個人學習需求選擇不同的模組課程。四大模組課程分別由具有共同核心目標但涵蓋不同主題之課程所建構而成。結合討論、展演、競賽及實作等各類學習方式與活動,期待學生能在更多元、自主的學習語境中,具體強化其英語文溝通能力。 本課程屬於「多元文化」模組,因應全球化時代的來臨與多元語境融入英語學習的新趨勢,引導學生在學習英文的過程中,體驗不同文化現象,培養多元視角之世界觀,進而完備其成為世界公民之基本素養。 The SENM program, an extension program of the FENM program, is a student-centered course focusing on students′ learning needs and interests. The course design features a small-class (no more than 25 students) learning and four modules. These four modules are: Multiculturalism, Presentation and Public Speaking, Career and Profession, and Daily Communication. All modular courses are semester-based; so each SENM student can choose two different modules according to their individual learning needs in one academic year. Within each module, there are different sub-themes, or topics, around which the course curriculum is built. Various class activities such as discussions, exhibitions, competitions, and presentations are incorporated to strengthen students′ English competence. This specific course belongs to the Module of Multiculturalism. This module provides students with opportunities to experience different cultural phenomena. It helps students to cultivate multiple global perspectives and to prepare them to be global citizens.
