教育目標

[English for Finance] will help students going into various accounting and finance fields be able to COMMUNICATE in English ideas and concepts related to their future work. We will focus on SPEAKING and LISTENING with some reading and writing; there is also an emphasis on understanding and USING specialist vocabulary. The course is very INTERACTIVE as it will give you many opportunities to share in English with one another and the teacher things you already know as well opportunities to research and look up things that might be new to them. This is a FUN class that will be USEFUL to your future career!! This course is specifically designed for pre-work students, studying at intermediate English level, who will need to use English to communicate effectively in the financial workplace. The course will aid students in developing the vocabulary, language, and skills that they need for use in a range of financial careers. For each unit, we will hear from (read and listen) real people who are already working in the world of finance. As well as have “webquests” where students will search the web for info to share with classmates in order to present, problem-solve, or make decisions. The course will also cover lots of language patterns and vocabulary specific to the financial workplace.

「大二英文」為「大一英文」之延伸課程。本課程將以25人小班制進行模組化之英語教學,實踐以學習者為中心之教學理念,針對學生個人學習興趣及相關系所之專業需求,開設四大模組課程,分別為「多元文化」、「簡報與演說」、「職涯與專業」以及「日常溝通」。所有的模組課程均以學期為單位,學生於上、下學期可針對個人學習需求選擇不同的模組課程。四大模組課程分別由具有共同核心目標但涵蓋不同主題之課程所建構而成。結合討論、展演、競賽及實作等各類學習方式與活動,期待學生能在更多元、自主的學習語境中,具體強化其英語文溝通能力。 本課程屬於「職涯與專業」模組,未來的國際化人才必須兼備專業能力與外語能力,為強化本校學生未來就業需求與職場競爭力,針對學院屬性開設符合其職涯專業的英語文課程。 The SENM program, an extension program of the FENM program, is a student-centered course focusing on students′ learning needs and interests. The course design features a small-class (no more than 25 students) learning and four modules. These four modules are: Multiculturalism, Presentation and Public Speaking, Career and Profession, and Daily Communication. All modular courses are semester-based; so each SENM student can choose two different modules according to their individual learning needs in one academic year. Within each module, there are different sub-themes, or topics, around which the course curriculum is built. Various class activities such as discussions, exhibitions, competitions, and presentations are incorporated to strengthen students′ English competence. This specific course belongs to the Module of Career and Profession. This module focuses on different specialized fields such as business English, technical English, or English for tourism. It helps students to increase their professional competence in English and to prepare them for jobs of the future. Course Objectives: On completion of the course, students should be able to 1) demonstrate their communicative competence in relation to the specific topic of the course; 2) use skills acquired in the course to explore specific topics related to their career and professional development; 3) use specialized vocabulary and terms to express themselves more professionally; and 4) effectively communicate with others in practical, profession-oriented situation.
