教育目標

The goal of this course is to train students to use English from what they have studied, meaning that they are not the dull English readers any longer, but they are hoped to listen , to speak , to read and to write at hand. Therefore, students play the roles of active participants in the classroom. Cooperative learning is partly brought into classes. Students are sometimes the instructors, who take the jobs to illustrate and explicate a vocabulary or part of an article as well as the teacher is sometimes one of the participants. Coming along with different topics taught in class, a variety of activities, games and home works are shaped for students. Students, thus, have many chances to develop their potential in English and their other talents such as their ability in estheticism, in cooperation with other people and etc...

課程概述

Aims of Course Freshman English for Majors is a four-skills course taught exclusively to majors of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. The goal of the course is primarily to improve students’ proficiency in communicative language skills with an emphasis on speaking and writing. A functional, notional approach is taken to planning objectives to help students gain confidence in using the English in social interactions. Therefore, active participation in the class is a prerequisite for successful completion. Content A variety of activities are used throughout the year including dialogues, role-plays, pair work, small group projects and whole class discussions. The syllabus includes a general review of grammar and many class activities attempt to integrate these grammar components. Therefore, students are given the opportunity to apply the rules to real-life situations that they might encounter in an English-speaking country. Teachers encourage students to monitor their grammar usage while improving their level of fluency.
