This course introduces students to the design and implementation of parallel, cluster, grid computing and applications. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to do the following: 1. Introduction to parallel, cluster, parallel, cluster, grid computing and applications 2. Understand Parallel, cluster computing and its applications 3. Understand Parallel, cluster, grid computing middleware, like Globus 5.0.2 4. Understand cluster system and related monitoring tools installation and setup 5. Understand message-passing programming on a cluster 6. Understand Multithreaded and OpenMP parallel programming on a multicore systems 7. Understand GPU/CUDA Programming on C2050 cluster 8. Understand cloud computing model and programming 9. Understand Hadoop HDFS and its applications 10. Understand Grid system and related monitoring tools installation and setup 11. Understand the different case studies of parallel, cluster, grid computing and applications

課程概述

Both Cluster and Grid computing and its applications are areas of rapid technical developments. Many technical developments are still in flux. We investigate resource management and scheduling, remote data access, network and other information monitoring issues, as well as software architecture and programming models for cluster and grid. The course consists of an introductory lecture, parallel computing, cluster commuting and grid computing environment installation and setup.
