教育目標

This course is conducted in English and focuses on giving an overview of the US legal system. This course is intent to provide students with a basic foundation and understanding to the history and structure of the US legal system. This course will employ the Socratic teaching method, and as such, students are required to participate daily in discussions, answer questions in English, and employ analytical skills and legal terms in their responses.

課程概述

英美法系以普通慣習、法官之判決先例、衡平法原則等發展而來。本課程以介紹美國法律為重心。影響大陸法系發展與英美法制核心概念之介紹，研讀並實作重要判例之摘要，以培養法律英文能力，啟發探究「法何以為法」之興趣。主要內容如美國憲法、侵權法、契約法、刑事訴訟法等概述。
