Oral Training 3 is a third-year required course. As this course is the last of the Comp/Oral series, its main aim is to give final shape and polish the skills of the students in speech. The oral ability of students is improved through group discussions, individual presentations, argument and debates. This course is taught together with Composition 3.
This course is designed to offer students a more comprehensive and intensive study /use of the English Language covering a wide range of developments that include situations in society and involve politics, religion, science, environment, personality, history, psychology etc.. Students will also be able to analyze and criticize literatures that involve any of these situations after gaining knowledge from this course. Special stress will be put towards public speaking and the use of written English for special purposes.
As this is a Language-based course, no specific book is prescribed. Students generate their own materials for class as the situation demands. Further handouts are acquired as per the discussions in class.
At the end of each semester, students, in consultation with the teacher, decide on a contemporary novel to read.
