On completion of the course, students should be able to:
1. recognize the elements of sentence structure;
2. improve their reading comprehension;
3. develop a perspective on the relative importance of several ideas within a single sentence; and
4. be alert to unexpected errors in their everyday reading.
課程概述
This two-credit course is designed to give students a strong foundation in the basics of Standard English grammar. There will be more detailed discussions of many aspects of grammar such as sentence patterns, phrases, clauses, and punctuation. Then students will be given exercises that emphasize sentence-level writing skills to apply their knowledge of the material studied in class.
