教育目標

This course is designed for Sociology sophomores to enhance their reading and listening skills, as well as writing and speaking skills. With foci on vocabulary building and reading strategies, students in this course are expected to improve their reading ability and have more interaction with the articles they read. In addition, to promote student’s English learning motivation and develop critical thinking, simplifier novels and authentic materials, such as newspaper and magazines, will be introduced to the course. Several reading, writing, listening, and oral tasks will be assigned weekly to assist their learning. Students are expected to listen to the listening exercises in their textbook and complete their reading assignments before class. Classroom activities include active reading, listening, discussion, and oral presentation.
