Orals 25 Students must complete two oral assignments.
Quizzes 20 Three quizzes will be administered.
Participation 20 Students are expected to actively participate in communicative activities and pair/group discussions.
Reflection Journal 20 Students must write and submit three reflective journal entries.
Online practice 15 Students must practice listening, reading and writing skills via online exercises outside the class every week .

教育目標

This course is designed to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for further study in English-speaking countries. The students will be expected to improve their English proficiency to communicate effectively, to sharpen their academic abilities to achieve in-depth learning and to develop their cross-cultural understanding. Class activities, consolidation assignments and evaluative measures will be designed and implemented to attain those goals. On completion of the course, students should be able to use English to handle everyday situations, use English to handle school work, acquire a wide range of knowledge of the target culture, and acquire an in-depth understanding of their home culture.
