1. 研究各學派之鋼琴演奏技術及演奏法，及其發展史。
2. 比較各種學派之演奏法，及其在鋼琴技術演進史上之地位。
3. 探討各學派之鋼琴演奏技術的長短處，及其被淘汰，或被改革之原因。
4. 認識歷代重要鋼琴教師之演奏理論與鋼琴教學法。
5. 認識歷代及現代重要鋼琴演奏家，鋼琴教育家及其演奏觀點。
