教育目標

This course is a survey of Twentieth Century woodwind literature. We will use 20th century analytical techniques to attempt to uncover the salient characteristics of each composer and the compositions. The works chosen will be categorized by styles:neo-classic, sound compositions, atonal, and contemporary techniques. All assignments are chosen to help the students with their ability to understand and perform works outside of functional harmony. The concepts studied should also help the students confidence to successfully perform new literature chosen throughout their careers.
