On completion of the course, students should be able to
1. recognize the elements of sentence structure;
2. improve their reading comprehension;
3. develop a pespective on the relative importance of several ideas within a single sentence; and
4. be laert to unexpected errors in their daily reading.
課程概述
This two-credit course is designed to give students a strong foundation in the basics of Standard English grammar. There will be more detailed discussions of the following aspects of grammar: sentence patterns, phrases, clauses, and punctuation. Students will be given exercises that emphasize sentence-level writing skills to apply their knowledge of the material learned in class.
