教育目標

• 增進對編程的概念認知以及在建築與都市開發應用 • 對未來在使用Java, Grasshopper Python, OO Concepts上增進基礎 • 了解何謂大數據以及數據對建築都市涵蓋內容 • 增進數據導向以及物件導向思考有興趣者 • 希望在出國深造前尋求機會增進英語應用, 單詞練習及英語邏輯思辩者 This course introduces students to the fascinating yet difficult subject of the object oriented, specifically that in understanding the city of Taipei. Despite the ubiquity of these complex formations within the city, attempts to deconstruct the city through the lens of object oriented views have been scarce until only recently. The city’s continuing growth/decay combined with academic interest in the “complex,” however, has led to increasing numbers of designers, theorists, and students engaging this unique urban dynamic. Objectives vary: some hope to “fix the problem,” while others wish to uncover and preserve its alternative intelligence. Despite the relative merits of either position, both suffer from fundamental problems of prescription that arise from incomplete conceptual models, deeply biased and exclusive polemics, and inadequate efforts toward defining the image of Taipei itself. The work of this study, then, involves developing new modes to imagine Taipei through careful exercises in drawing, coding, modeling data and understanding what object oriented promises.
