教育目標

On completion of the course, students should be able to: 1. increase their understanding about the world and different cultures; 2. use English effectively to communicate with others on a variety of topics; 3. explore important issues from multiple perspectives; 4. evaluate critically and synthesize information using English; and 5. increase the ability to form independent judgments

課程概述

This course is designed to help intermediate students advance in their listening and speaking ability in English through guided exposure to authentic programs and investigative reports. Students will develop familiarity with real-life communication and increase their fluency in discussing topics that have broad relevance in today’s interconnected world. A variety of themes and topics will be covered, including science, health, society, the environment, current events, and issues of everyday life. The course will help students gain greater proficiency and interest in utilizing global information resources to expand their world knowledge as well as their educational and professional horizons. This course is particularly suitable for students who are interested in Western culture or students who are interested in studying abroad. Students who take this course should have at a 550 or above TOEIC score or equvalent.
