教育目標

GL 5 is a second-year course for all students enrolled in the International College. It is an English-immersion course. The theme of the course is “leadership.” This 2-credit course for students in the IBA Program will feature global leaders from international corporations as well as private entrepreneurs. Each week a speaker would introduce their business and talk about what it takes to be successful and their challenges. They will also talk about what they look for in employees and what skill sets the students should develop. 1. To develop critical reading, speaking, writing, and thinking skills in alliance with creative reflection. 2. To use such skills in interpreting leadership goals and criteria. a. What are the qualities and defining characteristics of a leader? b. How does one become a leader? c. What leaders should I emulate in my personal growth and direction? d. What leadership goals should I pursue? e. What are the ethical dimensions of leadership? f. What is the relationship between leadership and service? 3. To develop personal leadership skills through study and effective communication.
