The field of supply chain management focuses on quantitative methods that aid in effective
decision-making in a business environment.
• Case Study: You will gain insights from logical inference in supply chain management.
To give you experience in analyzing and solving cases, assigned case study and performing
case analysis will be in class.
• Mathematical Models: You will formulate, solve, and interpret mathematical models
from various applications areas in supply chain management.
• Software: To develop your expertise in using and solving supply chain problems, this
course will require the use of personal computers and spreadsheet-based decision tool soft-
ware. Primary emphasis will be placed on formulating decision problems as optimization
models and solving them by the Excel tools and other decision analysis software.
