教育目標

This graduate seminar is designed to provide students with a comparative analysis of foreign policy. It focuses on the foreign policy systems approach, to examine the context and the international environment in which foreign policy systems must be seen, and to show how the approach can be used for comparative study. The main concern is to introduce some of the basic ideas associated with foreign policy and to highlight significant difference and similarities between the foreign policies of major states in the world. Moreover, this course is intended to help students identify the important elements or ingredients of foreign policy. To address the comparable pattern of foreign policy behavior, two fundamental questions are extremely important. What are the key factors that affect foreign policy? And, how is foreign policy made in various states at different times? These two questions require us to define the major issues facing the countries which we cover in this course and their places in a changing global environment.
