教育目標

課程介紹古希臘社會經濟史的不同面向。經濟是人類生活的重心，包括食物及其他生活所需的來源、分配以及消費。當古希臘社會日益發展，其經濟生活的方式也有所變動，其中牽涉到技術的演進、商業與貿易的發展，而經濟的變化也影響了社會生活: 社會階級往往與經濟有關，而掌握的資源又能成為政治的籌碼。政治繼而能藉由權力反過來影響經濟的走向。 課程將介紹決定社會經濟的因素，並從自然環境、農、林、漁、牧、手工業，介紹古希臘生活的資源以及相關的經濟活動，也將從勞動力的來源介紹不同的社會族群對經濟的影響。課程最後的部分將介紹法律、機構與政府組織在社會經濟中所扮演的腳色。這是一個可以由社會經濟史的角度來了解古希臘文明的課程。
