Diabetes occurs when there is a dis-balance between the demand and production of the hormone insulin. There are various types of Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes ). Type 2 is the most common form of diabetes, affecting around 90% of all people with diabetes. This course mainly is to define the pathophysiology of all kinds of diabetes and provide the molecular mechanisms and pharmacologic treatments of these diseases, especially focus on Type-2 Diabetes.
