教育目標

• In Oral Training III students will acquire advanced academic oral skills and give final shape to and polish their oral skills. Students will learn to present formal and semi-formal presentations. Students will also learn how to listen to public speaking critically, responsively, and objectively. The oral ability of the students will be further improved through group discussions, individual presentations, argument, and debate. Topics for discussion will mirror the written topics in Composition III.

課程概述

Oral Training 3 is a third-year required course. As this course is the last of the Comp/Oral series, its main aim is to give final shape and polish the skills of the students in speech. The oral ability of students is improved through group discussions, individual presentations, argument and debates. This course is taught together with Composition 3.

General Requirements:

• Attendance is mandatory for both classes. If students miss more than three classes for either Composition III or Oral Training III they will fail the class.
• Just showing up is not enough; students must come prepared and be ready to actively participate in the learning experience. This means students should prepare any assignments before they come to class.
• There is a strict no cellphone policy in these classes. They are to be turned off and put away. If you want to use your phone you must ask permission and leave the classroom. If questions or worksheets are emailed to you, you must print them out and bring them to class on paper, do not read them off your cellphone!
• Late presentations and homework will not be accepted and receive zero credit.
