In-class Contribution	20	interaction, asking questions and sharing opinions in class
Online meeting	20	The students will be scored by the preparation before the meeting and the quality of interaction in the meeting.
Reading project	20	students have to post the links of the news that they read online and their comments on Moodle. The minimal requirement is 10 qualified posts.)
Presentation	20	students have to make a 10-minute presentation about a news topic. In the presentation, students have to explain the reason of choosing this topic, summarize the story, and express their comments
Final exam	20

教育目標

This is a joint course jointing offered by a faculty member of Seinan Gakuin University, Japan. We wish to communicate with students worldwide through the internet. We believe that it will help students to better understand the diversity of cultures, know the views of young people from other societies, and make friends with young people all over the world. While normal visits and meetings by travel incur many costs, collaboration via the internet costs comparatively little. We can give all students the chance to talk with foreign students worldwide. In this course, THU students will have a chance to share their opinions and ideas with SGU students. We are going to discuss some current events and popular issues around the world. We will have video conferencing and Skype meetings with Japanese students. With these meaningful activities and discussion, we believe that students can express themselves confidently, embrace the world in a more flexible way and respect the differences in diverse cultures. 本課程主要是以英語討論時事及熱門話題，讓學生能夠使用英語做有意義的溝通與表達意見，並學習尊重多元不同的意見。在學期中會與日本西南大學學生透過網路視訊會議討論時事。
