微積分是討論 ”極限(Limit)” 這一觀念的數學。有兩種特定的極限定義，分別稱作微分(Differentiation)和積分(Integration)。本課程之內容即為極限、微分、和積分之觀念及應用。

We will study two basic concepts in this class: (1) the derivative of a function at some point, a concept motivated by computing the slope of a tangent line through a point in the graph of a function; (2) the definite integral of a function over an interval, a concept motivated by evaluating the area of the region under the graph of a positive function on an interval. We will also study the connection beween these two concepts and some of their applications.
