教育目標

This course aims to develop a solutions-oriented understanding of environmental and sustainability issues. Through interactive lectures in plants and people, field trips, field work (developing an eco-village) and problem-based homework sets, the class introduces basic quantitative analysis methods and solves problems inspired by real-world sustainability issues. Issues discussed include the challenges of eco-living, eco-farming, and the energy requirements met by alternatives such as wind, solar, biomass and hydropower. Invited speakers in permaculture, nature conservation, building and alternative construction materials will lead plans to implement and develop the Tunghai Eco-village.
