教育目標

This course uses microalgae as a model to study what is a green chemical process from the point of views of how algae as a biological system has survived over the eons of life’s history to evolve into the organism we are now viewing and using for biofuels, food and pharmaceuticals. We will explore what is the microalgae in terms of green mass cultivation in green chemicals systems, and how the economic application of microalgae can be used in industrial productions that are becoming more and more greener from a sustainable chemical point of view. Algae species such as Chlorella, Spirulina, Dunaliella, Haematococcus, Porphyridium and Nostoc will be evaluated for their green chemical production.
