教育目標
*Introduce anthropology. Students will be introduced to basic anthropological concepts including culture and social change, to provide students with a more holistic appreciation of human diversity.
*Conduct cross-cultural analysis. Students will develop critical thinking skills by using cross-cultural analysis to understand cyber cultures and technology in different cultures. This will allow students to develop a broader understanding of the role technology plays in different cultures, and compare and contrast how technology is used at different times.
*Identify new digital objects of anthropological study. Students will be given a foundation to better understand and analyze digital objects. These objects are similar to artifacts and/or material cultural which can help students not only understand current trends, how and why humans interact with the digital realm, but also future trends and phenomena in digital cultures.
*Identify and explain how society is changing and what impact that has on sustainability. Students will be able to elaborate on how digital technology is shaping humanity: both the challenges and the potentials. In so doing, students will be able to describe how the digital realm can contribute to processes of sustainability in the real world.
