教育目標
Unit-I Supramolecular chemistry: Basic concepts, principles, and history
Introduction to Supramolecular Chemistry: Basic concepts, principles, and history.
Nature of binding interactions in supramolecular structures: ion-ion, ion-dipole, dipole-dipole, H-bonding, cation-π, anion-π, π-π, and van der Waal interactions.
Unit-II Receptors: synthesis, structure, and binding
Introduction to the Receptors and their synthesis: Types of receptors-Crown ethers, Lariat ethers, Podands, Cryptands, Spherands, Calixarene, Cyclodextrins, Cyclophanes.
Binding interactions in receptors: Pre-organisation & complementarity theory, Lock and key analogy and Host-guest interactions
Binding of cationic, Anionic, Ion pair, and neutral guest molecules in supramolecular structures.
Unit-III Self-assembly in supramolecules
Defining the Self-assembly: Design, Synthesis, and properties of Self-assembling molecules.
Self-assembly by H-bonding in Catenanes, Rotaxanes, Dendrimers, and Supramolecular gels. The relevance of supramolecular chemistry to mimic the biological system.
