The primary course objective is to provide students with the tools and skills to understand the underlying concepts and practical tradeoffs entailed in taxation and public policy alternatives. Equipped with the fundamental concepts and tools in public finance and budgeting, students will be capable to understand different tax policies, to conduct analyses of public finance data, and to engage constructively in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of public finance policies.
