Information management is a dynamic and changing field. In this course we study how computer hardware, software, and networks are combined with personnel to build efficient and effective strategic information systems for business and professional organizations, with strategic aspects emphasized.
The main objectives of this course are: (1) to provide students with the basic concept regarding information management; (2) to familiarize students with information systems in various managerial levels; and (3) to enhance students’reading and presentation skills.Four parts and twelve issues will be discussed, including PART 1: information systems in the digital age, PART 2: information technology infrastructure, PART 3: key system applications for the digital age, and PART 4: building and managing systems.
