教育目標

本課程之目標在於深化研究生對於生態、行為與演化學的認識,並透過文獻閱讀、課堂討論與口頭報告,增進研究生的科學素養與培養研究生的批判性思考能力。本課程將分別從個體、族群、群聚與生態系等角度,討論相關科學議題。 學習目標(Learning Objectives): 1) 深化生態、行為與演化學的背景知識。 2) 透過文獻閱讀、課堂討論與口頭報告,強化同學的批判性思考能力。 3) 強化科學溝通與討論的技巧(especially in English)。 This is a required course for graduate students. The course may therefore be offered in English depending on the presence of international students. Since English is still the language of science and scientific practices, it is also of paramount importance for domestic students to be proficient at using English as a medium of communication. The course is aimed to provide graduate students broader and deeper understanding in Ecology and Evolution via discussions on scientific literatures. The course is also aimed to help students develop the ability of organizing and integrating pieces of knowledge that scattered across scientific literature, which is the first step to establish background of a given topic, discover the knowledge gaps, and devise a research project. Therefore, in this course, students are required to do a large amount of literature reading, share with the fellow students, and lead the discussion, either on assigned or self-chosen topics.
