教育目標

This is the second part of an introduction course to the fundamental concepts of chemical process design. The coursework involves the completion of a large open-ended design project for this two-term course. Specific techniques used in the project include economical and profitability analysis, optimum seeking methods, selection, and design of chemical process equipment involving fluid transport, heat transfer, mass transfer, and reactions. Basic concepts of process synthesis will be presented, along with the use of computers to solve chemical plant design and flowsheet simulation problems.
