Upon completion of this course, students should be able to to the followings:
1. Recognize the issues and concerns that American writers of color raise in their writing.
2. Understand the diverse nature of American literature.
3. Develop a critical sensibility and appreciation for multicultural American literature.
4. Improve their critical thinking skills through literary analysis.
課程概述
This course aims to give students some knowledge of the multi-ethnic literature of the United States by examining texts from a variety of ethnic groups such as African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, Indian American, and Native American. Through reading and discussing works by minority authors, students become familiar with some of the landmarks in the U.S. immigration history and issues related to race, ethnicity, class, and gender in America.
