評分方式

評分項目	配分比例	說明
Attendance	10	10% of the attendance grade will be deducted for each hour of class that is missed.
Participation	10	Students have to speak up in class to earn their credits.
Presentations and Assignments	50	There will be presentations and assignments after each unit.
Midterm and Final Exams	30	The exams will be in the forms of group reports, oral and written exams.

教育目標

This theme-based course is designed to help students to build up their English communicative competence—the ability of communicating with others in English, to assist them to develop warm manners and positive attitudes towards English learning, to expose them to cross-cultural concepts, to motivate them to learn about others and express themselves, and to train them to make English become part of their lives. American customs, traditions and celebrations are emphasized in the course. The Book of Rhymes and Rhythms is used to work on pronunciation.
