教育目標

On completion of the course, students should be able to: 1. communicate more effectively in English 2. identify their English print environment and use visual communication tools with words to communicate ideas in visual ways 3. better participate in conversations and make short presentations about familiar topics and social situations 4. create, analyze, and interpret visual messages and communicate these orally

課程概述

This course is designed to help intermediate and high-level students improve their English communication abilities. Students will become aware of their English print environment and will develop visual literacy skills through a broad range of interactive class activities. It is often said, A picture is worth a thousand words. A goal of this course is for students to be better able to communicate what they see in visual messages and to be better able to explain why messages that combine visual images and text are often more memorable, meaningful, and powerful in informing, educating, and persuading people. Class will meet once a week (two hours per week). Participation is necessary in this course, as emphasis will be on speaking, listening, and the sharing of ideas and opinions.
