We will begin by placing our research in a theoretical context: establishing a way of thinking based on an understanding of buildings as intimately connected to their environments --not cut-off and separate. We will investigate both the environment -the meteorological context in which we work (the weather) and models from nature which successfully deal with this context. We will look at skins and ENVELOPES in natural systems and dissect them to find out how they work and how they might inform our designs. Again basic and low-tech principles will be introduced and so will a few new techniques and tools in Analysis and Simulation such as Ecotect or Maya (CFD).

his course intends to develop green design strategies which affect architectural integrity from very beginning . With the comprehension of green house effect and climate change, this course aims to reveal the range of weather elements that contribute to our natural environment.
