教育目標

This Elective is designed to give the student knowledge about the major trends in Poetry vis-à-vis the major poets from early times to modern writers. While reading the selected poems, we will explore the developments of poetry as well as study the theories of interpretation. At the end we will also learn how to write our own poems.

課程概述

Selected Poetry is an elective for third- and fourth year students. This course builds on the knowledge of poetry that students obtained in Introduction to Literature 2. This course aims for an in-depth study of poetry and may focus either on the work of a particular poet who will be studied in depth or on a theme that will be worked out in studying various poems or on the relationship between poetry and other art forms.
