教育目標

The aims of this course are placed on empowering and enabling the social work doctorate student to be sensitive to the societal reality and practice advancement in relation to elders’ needs and problems. Through learning experience, students are expected to reach the following objectives: (1) to identify and present the emerging elder issues with professional judgment; (2) to equip with relevant knowledge, attitudes, techniques and skills as the practice capacities for applying in service settings; (3) to provide and orchestrate needed services to manage elders’ living context; and, (4) to advocate social concerns on elders from a stance of self-determination, ethical, welfare and human right.

課程概述

The course is designed to address the emerged social issues relating to social work practice services to elders. The course imparts needed knowledge and techniques through the examination on independent issues to advance doctorate student’s competencies both in theoretical advancement and practical concerns. Although the graduate student might suggest self-interested subject as the study focus, the existing varieties of elders’ needs, demands, issues, or problems are the requested concentrations. The accumulated work of observation, assessment, analysis, and evaluation on the concurrent elder issues are major themes of course context.
