This is a comprehensive first course in electronic circuits. This course covers 1).Foundation materials for electric circuits, including Ohm’s Law, Series and parallel of resistors Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law (KVL), Kirchhoff’s Current Law (KCL), Thevenin form and Norton form to represent signal source, Impedance elements and concepts, Voltage divider’s rule and current divider’s rule, Large signal and small signal representation, Analog and digital signals, Concepts of amplification. 2). Studies of basic electronic devices, including Operational Amplifiers, Diodes, Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFET), Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJT). 3). Special topics, including Digital Logic Circuits implemented by diodes, BJTs, or FETs. Students are encouraged to read textbook materials in advance before attending each class and work through examples, exercises and problems after classes by themselves or discuss with fellow students.
