This class is taught for students of environmental sciences, environmental engineering, and basic sciences. No previous exposure to microbiology is assumed. The emphasis will be placed on the human environment, the objective being to make the student aware of the role of microorganisms as pollutants and in pollution control. Students are expected to learn the basic microbiology, such as cell structures, bacterial metabolism, and the industrial application of microorganisms.
