教育目標

The theme of this course is “leadership” and how leadership will evolve over the next decade. What are characteristics of a leader today and what are the skills a leader will need in 2030? What do leaders do as it relates to a CE? How can you cultivate the skills necessary to become a leader now and in the future? The best way to learn these skills is not only to read about them, but to see how they are put into practice by real leaders from the international community in Taiwan. This course will be based on theory as well as practical application. The theory component will consist of eight themes: Leadership Theories, Leadership and the Leader’s Purpose, Leadership Models, Situational/Contingency Leadership, Integrated Psychological Approach, Leadership Philosophies, Leadership Styles, and Charismatic Leadership. The practical application component will feature global leaders from international corporations as well as private entrepreneurs living and working in Asia to see how they put leadership theory into practice. Each speaker will introduce their business and talk about leadership and what it takes to be successful and their challenges. They will also talk about the role the CE plays in the innovation or bottom line-profit of their company. They will talk about what they look for in employees and what skill sets the students should develop to be successful in 2030

課程概述

The first part of the course will focus on the characteristics of leaders, and empowering of students to develop communication, networking and negotiation skills necessary for becoming leader in the contemporary society. Guided by the UNESCOs Education 2030 Agenda and Framework for Action, in particular the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on Education, the second part of the course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to contribute to effective protection, management and conservation of water, land, air and living resources, and promote environmentally sound policies and sustainable development.
