Chinese Course Title: 英語會話易開口 Course Title: Daily Communication Made Easy Course Introduction: 你發現你的閱讀能力還可以, 但是口說能力卻相當弱嗎? 你發現要跟老外對話卻不知如何開口嗎? 那麼這門課就是為你設計的. 每週設定一生活主題, 學生學習如何聆聽, 提問及表達意見. 學習內容包括思辨能力, 常用句型, 發音訣竅, 及溝通禮節. 經由有趣的學習活動及角色扮演, 讓學生有自信及能力開口用英文溝通. 本班不收下列學生: 已考過全民英檢中級或等同考試者, 你的高中是以英語授課者, 你的國家或地區日常生活使用英語者, 你的英語能力已經是中級以上者. Do you find your reading ability is better than your speaking ability? Do you find it difficult to strike up a conversation with native speakers of English? Then this is the right course for you. Every week students learn to talk about a topic that relates to their lives. Students learn to listen carefully, think critically, ask questions and express themselves clearly. Critical thinking, useful patterns, tips of pronunciation and communication etiquette will be covered. Through interesting learning activities and role playing, students learn to converse in English more fluently and confidently. You are not qualified to take this course if you belong to one of the following kinds of students: You have already passed intermediate GEPT or equivalent exam, your high school used English as the medium of instruction, your country used English in daily communication, or your English proficiency is intermediate level (CEFR B1) or above.

課程概述

「大二英文」是一個以學習者為中心的模組化課程。針對學生個人學習興趣及相關系所之專業需求,開設四大模組課程,分別為「職涯與專業」、「日常溝通」、「多元文化」以及「自我表達技巧」。四大模組分別由具有共同核心目標但涵蓋不同主題之課程所建構而成。所有的課程均以學期為單位,學生可以根據個別興趣及需求,於上、下學期選擇兩門不同的模組課程。本課程將以25人小班制進行互動式教學,結合討論、展演及實作等各類學習活動,讓學生能在更多元、自主的學習語境中,具體強化其英語文溝通能力。 本課程屬於「日常溝通」模組,強調英語學習與真實生活的連結,透過各種對話範例與練習讓學生將所學運用於日常生活中。除了日常生活詞彙外,常用口語和慣用語也是本模組所要涵蓋的核心內容。 The SENM program is a student-centered module-based program which offers students choices and small, interactive classes. The program encourages students to tailor their English learning to their specific needs and interests by offering four semester-based modules: Career and Profession, Daily Communication, Multiculturalism, and Self-Expression Skills. Additionally, within each of the four modules, there are different themes, or topics, around which each course‘s curriculum is built. Each SENM student can choose two different module courses in one academic year according to their needs and interests. The program’s small class size (no more than 25 students) means that a variety of class activities such as discussions, role plays, and presentations are an integral part of the program. This specific course belongs to the Daily Communication Module. This module emphasizes real-life English for effective communication. It provides conversation models and practices for a variety of common scenarios in everyday life. Apart from daily-life vocabulary, frequently-used colloquial and idiomatic expressions are the two major language components covered. Course Objectives: On completion of the course, students should be able to 1) use effectively the vocabulary and expressions acquired in the course to address daily-life topics; 2) use spontaneously the conversation strategies acquired in the course to initiate, sustain, and end communication; 3) communicate with others effectively in various daily-life situations; and 4) express themselves in English more confidently.
