教育目標

This course is designed for general business majors with focus on what students need to know to make data-driven decisions. It provides a basic introduction to business intelligence and analytics, including the use of data, quantitative methods, exploratory and confirmatory models, and evidence-based approaches to inform business decisions and actions. We will highlight the interaction of these throughout the decision-making process to provide insight and value to firms. Students will learn how to make better and faster business decisions using data analytics methods and tools. The objectives of this course are to help students: (1) understand the dynamics and applications of data analytics, (2) learn fundamental data analytics methods and tools to analyzing data, and (3) develop skills to derive insights and foresights, and to tell business related stories. The course is challenging, requires critical thinking, and progresses at a rapid pace. Students need to work hard, to think in a logical and creative way, and to prepare regularly for each class session to do well in this course.
