教育目標

How does this course contribute to the Majors program? This course will allow students to contextualize the languages they know and to better understand the position of these languages in the world. They will become more open-minded regarding other languages, by eliminating stereotypes and understanding the similarities and differences between languages, thus developing a multicultural competence. The practice in class will allow them to better understand the different ways languages work, and to become aware of the difference between ways of organizing and expressing thought. This knowledge will also be helpful in their language learning, since they will better understand the nature of their language errors without considering them as failures, and therefore developing a growth mindset.
