教育目標

This course is to assist the SSE sophomores in further developing their project proposals and helping them learn the skills necessary for writing good proposal. If possible, students should also enroll to 2834Introduction to Scientific Writing and Research Methodology. This course will provide introduction to scientific writing and research methodology, focusing on development of project proposals. Instruction will focus primarily on conducting and writing literature reviews and project proposals. It will also teach students about hypotheses, research methods and experimental design, presentation and interpretation of results and discussion, conclusions and suggestions, references and appendices, and the principles and practices of scientific presentation in the form of seminar presentations. The course will be presented in three segments: Part (1) teaches students how to select research topic; part (2) teaches students how to conduct literature review, select research methodology and experimental design; part (3) takes them through the preparation of an actual project proposal.
