This course is a general survey of arts, including the history of painting, sculpture, and architecture. By studying and comparing the artistic works and achievements of various periods and cultures, student will have the opportunity to increase their visual literary and make their aesthetic judgments in a cross-cultural context. They will also consider their civic responsibilities toward cultural sustainability and heritage conservation. A wide range of in-class activities and assignments is also designed to enhance students' overall English communicative skills, such as presentation and writing competence.
