To succeed in managing your money and investing for the long-term, you need to have strong financial and investment literacy. This course provides the materials for students to learn and practice key investment principles, and start form the basics of investing. Students will learn investment fundamentals, build investment literacy, and form a basic investment plan in class. This course is not a replacement for core foundational courses in finance and investments. Rather this course is focused on the narrow, practical objective of building fundamental financial and investment literacy, so as to begin the life-long practice of learning and investing as a college student. There are multiple performance evaluation for this class: weekly assignments, midterm presentation and report, and final project report: your investment plan. Active participation in workshops and discussions will be critical in the success of this course and your investment plan. Note: this course is part 2 of Financial and Investment Literacy series. It’s advisable that students take Financial Literacy prior to this course. Core objective: Equip students with knowledge and skills needed to start investing in the financial markets.

This course will rely on freely available learning materials and references on the internet.
