評分項目	配分比例	說明
Midterm Exam	25	The midterm exam will assess students' familiarity with the medieval, renaissance, and baroque music covered in class.
Final Exam	25	The final exam will assess students' familiarity with all periods of music covered throughout the semester.
Midterm Writing	15	In the midterm writing, the student will express his/her opinions of the composers covered before the midterm exam, and their music.
Final Writing	15	In the final writing, the student will express his/her opinions of the composers covered after the midterm exam, and their music.
Classical Music Live Concert Attendance and Report	10	The student will attend a live classical music concert and write a one-page report summarizing the experience.
Classroom Attendance	10	This part of the grade will reflect the student's attendance.

教育目標

Students will become familiar with the most common English vocabulary used when discussing music. Students will obtain a basic knowledge of the most famous composers from the "Periods of Music" mentioned in the Course Description, and will become familiar with some of their best compositions. Through much listening in the classroom, it is hoped that the student, at the end of the semester, will be able to hear a piece of music and know from what period in time it was written.
